How to Love Yourself
Have you ever thought about loving yourself? Do you truly know what loving yourself means? Most of the time, In my opinion we focus on loving others and not ourselves. Before we can truly love others, we need to be able to love ourselves first.
You have probably heard a lot of times that you should love yourself but do you really know how to love yourself? I thought I should write a post on how to love yourself because I have written quite a number of posts instructing you to love yourself but most people don’t know how to love themselves. Loving yourself means knowing your worth and value always. Loving myself, has been something I love to do always. It is now fond of me. Almost two years now, I have practiced steady self love and I will let you know how I love myself in the list below.
Everyday, I take my bath, brush my teeth, clean my environment before I start working
I take care of my skin, use the right soap and cream
I love exercising. I do that every evenings after working
Read my novels and watch movies
Push away negative comments and thoughts
Welcome the positive thoughts
Being nice has been a habit of mine. I do it irrespective of the other person’s bad attitude
I love to be with my friends and family a lot. It gives me joy
The same way I love being with family and friends, is the same way I love to spend time alone to get to understand myself better and know how to love myself better.
The above list is what I do to show myself love. In writing this post, I thought of more ideas in which I wasn’t doing but helpful in loving yourself and myself.
You are the only one with your DNA. Be happy with your life just the way it is. be thankful with your life at any point in time.
Start a relationship with yourself first before having any relationship with anyone. Stay away from things your hate and be with things you love more. When you know yourself better, relationship with other people becomes easier. Keep relationships with people you want to be with
Avoid to be perfect. No one is perfect instead love yourself
Compliment yourself always
Spoil yourself the way you spoil a spouse or a father spoils his daughter
Let your work be what you love to do
Learn to forgive yourself and others
Be ready to say No when is it not favourable for you
